Amaranth was first popular with the ancient Aztecs. Our Amaranth bread has a dark flavoursome crust, and is cleverly made with a mix of amaranth, wheat and rye flours to give us a distinctive  flavour, a pleasant light texture which is less dense than many other sourdough breads and wonderful to eat sliced straight from the loaf or toasted and topped with avocado or fresh fruit jams. This is a very versatile loaf and the high protein content of the amaranth also means it will hold your hunger at bay.
